OVERVIEW
CHALLENGE
Kit and Ace had set their sights on launching their inaugural mobile app. Their pre-established plans revolved around adapting their existing online web store for mobile e-commerce. However, true to Kit Ace's signature approach, they aspired to infuse their mobile app with additional brand experience and storytelling elements, even though the specific details of this endeavour were yet to be defined.
APPROACH
Initially, our primary objective was to grasp the fundamental requirements for transforming into a FinTech company with the characteristics of a bank. After successfully setting up partnerships, obtaining the necessary insurance, and fulfilling the licensing requirements, we could then move forward with defining our Minimum Viable Product (MVP). To achieve this, we conducted a comprehensive competitive analysis and immediately set to work. Using the Design Sprint framework, I identified the essential MVP features that would pave our way to entering the market.
DEFINE THE BUSINESS GOALS, DESIGN AND DEVELOP TWO PROTOTYPES TO VALIDATE THE CONCEPTS
The products we developed were designed closely with the company’s brand philosophy in mind. We were able to emulate Kit and Ace’s values by designing in a way that is functional and moves people forward.

SPRINT
"We utilized the 5-Day Sprint framework to distil and simplify the design process, from concept, and stakeholder alignment to user testing."
OVERVIEW
Following the structured 5-Day Sprint framework as our roadmap, we collaborated closely with the Kit and Ace product team. Together, we outlined clear daily objectives for the week, ensuring predictable outcomes at each stage of the process. This framework proved to be highly effective for managing tight timelines and facilitating laser-focused problem-solving, all leading to a well-defined endpoint with actionable results. It effectively eliminated ambiguity and subjective opinions, ultimately placing the customer at the core of our efforts.

Eliminating distractions, we answered critical business questions for Kit and Ace. The result was a product designed, prototyped, and tested. We cut down months of time to a single week
TWO PROTOTYPES, FIVE DAYS, TESTED
MOBILE IOS APP
INTERACTIVE CODELESS PROTOTYPE
USER TESTING
OVERVIEW
After 3 days of product ideation, we had two concepts ready for design and testing.

We created a fully-coded native iOS app and interactive codeless prototype for iPad that was ready for the next stage of development. Test users believed both apps were ready to ship based on the seamless UX design.
CLOTHING PAIRING APP
Fully developed iOS mobile app that allows users to see recommended product pairings and try them on in-store via a scheduling app that has the items ready in a fitting room at a set time, at the store location of their choice. We also integrated a real-time chat system with a Kit and Ace stylist to provide style advice and help users book their personalized fitting experience
CODELESS PROTOTYPE
We used codeless, high-fidelity prototyping to test our concept with a focus group. We crafted a script to explore functionality as well as intended use, combining efforts and interviews by the complete team, including stakeholders.

The business goals of the second concept were to highlight the Kit and Ace healthy, professional athlete lifestyle, sponsor local athletes/business owners, and promote cross-selling of the outfits featured in the app.
CONCLUSION
2
Apps designed and tested
5
Days to conceptualize and validate
Eliminating distractions, we answered critical business questions for Kit and Ace. The result was a product designed, prototyped, and tested. We cut down months of product design, user validation, engineering, and stakeholder alignment to a single week. Talk about moving fast, and staying true to the Kit and Ace motto, "Time is precious".

I would further develop this sprint process and utilize it moving forward with future projects.
"We like that you are very high-touch, again in a great way, and that you are able to walk teams through the process. Matthew would be part of a very small and select list we would recommend! We would absolutely recommend him for strategy as well since we went through a successful engagement with you."
